Sometimes We Keep Secrets

Sometimes, the tasks I work on at the lab are items I cannot share with the public either because these tasks are still in their infancy and are not ready for others or because I need to protect the integrity of the work; this is one of those weeks when I can't say much about what I've accomplished. I can tell you, however, that I have had a busy week putting together materials and preparing for current and upcoming events. I can also say that I learned a new skill in ArcGIS, which is our mapping program. I learned how to insert small maps inside a larger map and how to control each map section independently. The last thing I can say is that our undergraduate student did some more amazing work this week as she continues on with her independent research project. She submitted a research abstract to present her work at the USM undergraduate research symposium, and we will work next week on generating high quality figures from her research and possibly start writing up her research for her final paper and poster.

Next week the updated website for MissDelta should be finished, so I hope to spend next week's blog talking more about this project, the working groups and tasks, and how we are collaborating across so many fields of expertise, universities, and even states. Stay tuned!
