Short, Sweet, and Busy

This week, I've been busy working on multiple tasks in preparation for upcoming deadlines and events. From helping with publication materials to learning how to write an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee application - the form that allows researchers to work with vertebrate specimens in controlled settings - I have stayed busy working on important materials. I've also been learning new skills, including digitizing satellite imagery to generate maps for our modeling work. Unfortunately, since all of these items are small details and paperwork items (with some confidential materials), I don't have much to share this week. I will share, though, that the heat wave sweeping the country is very real and we are certainly feeling it in Mississippi, with daily temperatures in the mid- to high-90s and heat indices in the high-100s. As we prepare for the 4th of July and associated celebrations next week, remember that sunscreen is such a valuable item to have and use to ensure that you have fun and don't pay the price in the days after.

See you all next week!
