New Developments

I know that I've been inside the meiolab or at the microscope for too long, when I realize that there are new items at the lab. This week, due to some complications with my experiment, I took a trip down to the waterfront at the lab and realized that the faculty and staff had built out the beach area into a nice shallows and pseudo-rocky shore. This area is shallow enough for an ankle-deep walk, but deep enough to house small fishes and larger invertebrates, that I disturbed while collecting seawater and sediment this week. Why did I need seawater, you ask? Well the work that I set up using Panama City seawater didn't go as planned, so thanks to some quick thinking by Dr. Ingels, I set up a new set of tests to evaluate the feasibility of the experimental design.

Because of these new developments, I didn't make much progress this week with my other work, but next week I will sit down to finish my nematode work, and finish the second [of four] chapter of my dissertation. I will also hopefully have some updates on this new test we are running with cool pictures of what is going on, so stay tuned!
