How to Choose a Favorite?

As I promised last week, I wanted to get some pictures of my favorite nematodes (well singular favorite, as I couldn't find the other Genus). While I am not a nematologist by trade, nematodes are a really great animal to connect my microplastics work with Dr. Ingels meiofauna work and they are immensely diverse. Therefore, picking a favorite becomes a task of identifying what is unique or intriguing about a nematode's morphology, cuticle pattern, or even mouth structure. While I don't think I can call any individual nematode cute, unlike my favorite animal the sea otter, nematodes do have some great shapes and forms that make me excited when I see them.

The nematode I am featuring this week as my favorite is a member of the Genus Odontophora. This genus is characterized by large [usually] protruding teeth that extend from their mouths, and a v-shaped buccal cavity, which you can see in this picture.
