"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."

ABOUT MEI am a Ph.D. candidate in ecology and evolutionary biology at Florida State University in the Ingels Lab (Meiolab). I am broadly interested in understanding how anthropogenic pollution is affecting marine environments. In particular, I am interested in how microplastics are affecting ecosystem processes. You can read more about my research interests here.
I first became interested in marine ecology as an undergraduate at SUNY Geneseo where I worked on coral reefs in the Bahamas under the direction of Dr. Isidro Bosch. During my time as an educator at the secondary and post-secondary levels, I wished that I could get back into research in the marine environment and teaching about the marine environment, which brought me back to school to start my Ph.D. |
